为何加一个be

老师你好！He seems happy.=He seems to be happy. 老师我困惑的是为何在to 后面要加一个be.我常常碰到这种句型，就是我一个人不可以理解。老师能讲解下吗？谢谢。

两句话都正确，在乎义上好像没什么差别。seem之后可接不定式作表语（to be happy），也可以直接接形容词作表语（happy），故不少人觉得是happy前省略了to be。

1.形容词性的过去分词或短语也可以直接作表语，说明主语的状况。比如：

Most consumers seem unconvinced that the recession is over. 大部分买家好像都不相信经济衰退已经过去。

She doesnt seem cut out for this tough neighbourhood. 她好像不合适在这个治安恶劣的社区生活。

2. 假如过去分词不是形容词性质，而是与主语构成动宾关系，则 to be 不可以省略。比如：

He was dazed but did not seem to be badly hurt. 他有的神志不清，但仿佛没受重伤。

One group of people seems to be forgotten, namely pensioners. 有一类人好像被遗忘了，就是那些领养老金的人。
