这个现象叫宾语后移。当宾语结构比较复杂（如带有定语从句）而状语相对比较简单，则将宾语移至状语之后，使复杂的结构坐落于句末。这就是尾重原则。句末也是信息中心地方，有时为了突出强调宾语，也会将宾语后移到状语之后。结构复杂是后移的重要原因。另外，假如将状语留在宾语后，大概致使误以为这个介词短语是修饰written的。宾语后移则排除去误读的可能性。
