大家身边的低头族愈加多，上下班的路上，看手机；吃饭闲聊天时，看手机；网上购物抢菜购物，看手机；与目前正在看手机的你......
那样，问题来了，“看手机”的“看”，是see，是look还是watch？
其实都不对！
那到底如何说？大家先来讲说这类“看”。
See
“See”的意思是用双眼注意到或意识到。
See means to notice or become aware of by using your eyes.
比如：
The moment we saw the house, we knew we wanted to buy it.
大家一看到这房屋就了解大家要买。
He crouched down so he couldn’t be seen.
他蹲下来好让其他人看不见他。
Can I see your ticket, please?
我能看你的票吗？
注意，see也可以表示理解（ to see can also mean to understand）。
比如：
I see what you mean.
我了解你的意思。
Look
动词“look”的意思是有意识地运用“see”的能力。换句话说，它的意思是付出努力或注意力去看某物。通常后边跟at或者for。
The verb to look means to deliberately apply the ability to see. In other words, it means to make a conscious effort to see something. To look is usually followed by at or for.
比如：
If you look carefully you can see that the painting represents a human figure.
假如仔细看，就会看出画上是一个人形。
‘It’s time we left,’ Ian said, looking at his watch.
“大家该走了。”伊恩看了看表说。
The men all turned to look at her as she entered the room.
她走进房间的时候，所有男性都转过来看她。
Watch
Watch的意思是看（某人或某事）一段时间，注意正在发生的事情。
Watch means to look at for an amount of time and pay attention to what is happening.
比如：
We sat and watched the sunset.
大家坐下来看日落。
Watch carefully. You may learn something.
仔细看，或许你能学到点东西。
此外，watch也有留神，注意某事，照看的意思。
比如：
Watch your head on the shelf.
小心头，别碰到架子。
She watches the kids for us occasionally.
她偶尔会替大家照看小孩。
★“See”更侧重于大家双眼有没看东西的能力，能不能看到东西。
★“Look”则是视线上的注目的“看”。
★“Watch”不同更大些，可以理解为“观看”，需要看一段时间。
但可以细想一下，大家说的“看”手机，真的就只不过“看”着么？
当然不是，是浏览、是查询，所以“看手机”的正确表达可以说：
check the phone ：表达下意识的查询手机，看看有没新消息。
look through the phone：look through 意为查询，翻阅，look through the phone 就是翻看手机。
比如：
Dont check / look through your phone at the dinner table.
别老在吃饭的时候看手机。
