Leslie Nielsen’s devotion to acting is wonderfullyinspiring. He built a hugely successful career with little more than plain oldhard work and determination. He showed us that even a single desire, nevergiven up on, can make for a remarkable life.
请问never given up on如何理解? He showed us thateven a single desire, never given up on, can make for a remarkable life 完整理解的意思是?
give up 和 give up on 都可以说,但有不同:
He was forced to give up his job.
She refused to give up trying.
My doctor urged me to give up smoking/cigarettes.
Rescuers have not yet given up hope that moresurvivors will be found.
He gave up his seat to an elderly woman.
His teachers seem to have given up on him.
I’ve been in trouble so many times that my teachershad given up on me.
At that point I hadn’t completely given up on themarriage.
He showed us that even a single desire, never givenup on, can make for a remarkable life.
never given up on
