Thanks to the Fourteenth Amendment1 to the US Constitution, children born on US soil automatically become US citizens, regardless of where their parents hail from. Hence the phenomenon of US birth tourism, which appears to be a growing trend.
美国《宪法》第十四条修正案规定，不论他们的爸爸妈妈来自什么国家，在美国国土上生的孩子都会自动成为美国公民。由此引出了赴美国生育旅游的现象，而且这一现象好像有增长的趋势。
上文中的birth tourism就是生育旅游，指准母亲到有落地国籍原则的国家生小孩，以让孩子享有当地国民待遇的行为。由于美国能给当地生的人citizenship（公民权），因此便成为了生育旅游的目的地。目前国内有不少expectant mothers（准母亲）都想去美国生孩子，因此提供cross-border baby delivery service（外贸产子服务）的中介机构也多了起来。
目前旅游的目的愈加多元化，旅游不再只不过观光，而是附带了各种不一样的意义，像ecotourism（生态旅游）、medical tour（医疗旅游）、cultural tourism（文化旅游）等都已不是传统意义上的观光旅游了。
