President Xi Jinping on Thursday said that China is committed to working with the United States to build a new type of major-power relationship.

17日，国家主席习近平表示，中国将致力于同美方一同构建中美新型大国关系。

新型大国关系（new model/type of major power relationship）是以相互尊重（mutual respect）、互利共赢（mutual benefit and win-win）的合伙人关系为核心特点的大国关系，是崛起国（developing country）和既成大国（developed country）之间处置冲突和矛盾的新方法。2012年5月3日，在北京召开的中美策略与经济对话（USChina Strategic^{1 and Economic Dialogue）期间，双方将构建中美新型大国关系作为主题，这一定义被高调推出。}

习近平表示，可以达成这一目的，将是中美两国人民之幸（be good for the people of China and the US），也是世界和平与进步（world peace and development）之幸。
